Score-to-Focus Planner

The OELPS → Curriculum Score-to-Focus Planner is a teacher planning tool that converts a student’s OELPS composite and domain scores into targeted instructional recommendations within the English Workbook: Interactive Edition. Teachers enter the student’s name, age, composite score, and individual scores for Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing.

Each 1–5 score is mapped to a corresponding proficiency band and specific workbook units and instructional days. The planner then identifies which lessons best reinforce each language domain, such as listening dictation, dialogue practice, reading passages, or guided writing. It also recommends related supplementary tools such as Speaking to the Yeti, Word Asteroids, Verb Blaster, Modal Defender, Grammar Tic-Tac-Toe, or the Course Dictionary when appropriate.

The student’s lowest-scoring domain or domains are automatically marked as instructional priorities, helping teachers quickly identify where additional support is most needed. The tool also creates a concise intervention summary that can be copied for records and generates a pre-filled Google Form link containing the student’s scores and recommendations. It is well suited for OELPS data review, intervention planning, differentiated instruction, student conferences, and curriculum placement decisions.
