Vocabulary Flashcards 

The K–8 ESL Vocabulary Flashcards are an interactive bilingual study tool designed to support vocabulary development, pronunciation, and independent review. Each card presents an English vocabulary word with its pronunciation, part of speech, definition, contextual example, and Spanish translation. Students can flip cards to reveal supporting information and use built-in text-to-speech to hear the word, example sentence, definition, and Spanish translation.

Teachers can differentiate practice by grade band, vocabulary category, and specific curriculum units, and can arrange cards randomly or alphabetically. Students classify each word as “I Know It” or “Study Again,” while the program tracks both groups during the session. A dedicated review mode then creates a focused deck containing only words marked for additional practice.

The flashcards are well suited for independent vocabulary study, learning stations, targeted intervention, unit review, pronunciation practice, or teacher-led instruction. The combination of bilingual support, audio modeling, curriculum filtering, and self-assessment allows students to move from supported vocabulary recognition toward more independent recall.
